Sidney man dies in an accident Tuesday Afternoon

A Sidney man died early Tuesday afternoon after he was injured during an accident when he was trying to repair an air brake line on a trailer his semi was hauling. Shelby County Chief Deputy Jim Frye told the Sidney Daily News, 911 dispatch received a call to respond to the 8000 block of Cisco Road at 12:10 p.m. Chief Deputy Frye stated said it appeared the 25-year-old man was attempting to fix an air leak on the brake line of a lowboy trailer, which was hauling a track hoe. While under the trailer, it and the semi began to roll backward and drug the man. Fort Loramie Rescue and Fire responded to the scene. The victim later died at Miami Valley Hospital where he was transported by CareFlight. No further information is available at this time. The victim’s name has not yet been released.


Shelby County Deputies released the name of the individual who died from injuries suffered while making a roadside repair to a semi trailer as Evan Winner, 25, of Mason Road near Sidney. The preliminary investigation revealed, that it appeared to be an air coupler for the trailer brakes that came partially uncoupled, which wouldn’t allow the trailer to move. after being transported to Miami Valley Hospital, Winner was pronounced and succumbed to the injuries he received from the mishap.
