3 arrested after traffic stop in Mercer County Monday evening

3 people were arrested Monday evening after a traffic stop at Ash and Market streets in Celina. According to the Mercer County Sheriff's Office, Deputies made the traffic stop just after 9 pm. A canine unit alerted to the presence of a narcotic odor in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, 34 year old Shawn Krugh was arrested for OVI. The 2 passengers in the vehicle, 31 year old Crystal Mullins and 34 year old Wesley Kempton were arrested for possession of a controlled substance. After a search of the vehicle, suspected heroin and methamphetamine, along with drug abuse instruments and paraphernalia were located. All 3 suspects are being held in the Mercer County Adult Detention Facility.

Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey announced today the arrest of three individuals on drug charges related to a traffic stop on Ash Street near Livingston Street in Celina. At 5:48 PM deputies stopped a 2000 Mercury driven by Shawn Krugh, age 29, from Wilshire, Ohio. Shortly thereafter a Sheriff’s Office K9, Franco, alerted to the vehicle. During the investigation, it was apparent that Mr. Krugh was under the influence and he was arrested for Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence. Passengers inside the vehicle, Wesley Kempton, age 34 of Salamonie, Indiana, and Crystal Mullins, no known address, were also arrested for possession of drugs. Suspected heroin, methamphetamines, drugs abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia were recovered from inside the vehicle. Mr. Krugh’s bond was set at $10,000 and the bonds of Mr. Kempton and Ms. Mullins were set at $50,000 each. All remain incarcerated in the Mercer County Detention Facility at this time. Sheriff’s Office deputies were assisted by the Heroin Interdiction Team (H.I.T.) and the Celina & Coldwater Police Departments
