Celina City Council to Consider Fire Reporting System, EMS Agreement and Wheatland Acres Plat

Celina City Council will consider legislation involving the fire department, emergency medical services and residential development when it meets Monday, November 9.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at 225 North Main Street.

One ordinance would authorize Safety-Service Director Tom Hitchcock to enter into an agreement with Locality Media, LLC, doing business as First Due, to provide fire reporting systems for the Celina Fire Department.

Council will also consider approving the final plat for Phase VII of the Wheatland Acres development.

Another measure would amend a previously approved ordinance involving the Mercer County Ambulance (EMS) Agreement and authorize Mayor Jeff Hazel and Hitchcock to enter into an agreement related to those services.

Two financial resolutions are also on the agenda. One deals with accepting tax amounts and rates established by the Mercer County Budget Commission, authorizing the necessary tax levies and certifying them to the county auditor. The other would accept the city's Local Government Fund amount and rate as determined by the commission.

All five measures are being introduced with emergency declarations.

Under old business, council is scheduled to give a third reading to an ordinance authorizing Mayor Hazel to enter into an agreement with the Mercer County Commissioners for indigent defense services in Celina Municipal Court during 2027.

Council will also review minutes and committee reports from October 26 and hear administrative reports and public comments.
