Cab Fare Dispute Leads to Shooting in Downtown Cincinnati

A taxi passenger was critically injured Tuesday night after a dispute over a fare outside Heritage Bank Center in downtown Cincinnati, the Ohio News Network reports.

ONN says the driver and passenger argued around 7:30 p.m. over the cost of a ride to Kentucky. The driver allegedly shot the man, who was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and remained in intensive care Wednesday morning. A woman who was also in the cab was unhurt.

The driver was taken into custody. East Pete Rose Way beneath the arena was closed while investigators processed evidence. The names of those involved had not been released as of Wednesday morning.
