Strangulation Case Bound Over to Auglaize County Common Pleas Court

A 33-year-old man accused of strangulation and domestic violence following an incident in Minster has had his case bound over to Auglaize County Common Pleas Court.

Daniel Joseph Dicke waived his preliminary hearing October 16. He faces a fourth-degree felony charge of strangulation and a first-degree misdemeanor charge of domestic violence.

According to a Minster Police affidavit, officers responded to a domestic dispute around 11:09 p.m. October 3. A woman reported that Dicke grabbed her throat and pushed her onto a bed, briefly preventing her from breathing. Officers reported observing finger marks on her neck.

The affidavit states that a witness heard the woman screaming for Dicke to stop choking her. Dicke denied putting his hands on her when officers located him.

The court continued his bond and transferred the case for grand jury consideration. The charges remain allegations.
