DeWine denounces controversial Ramaswamy campaign ad
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine is criticizing a controversial campaign advertisement released by Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign.
The advertisement features Democratic candidate Amy Acton’s estranged mother urging Ohioans not to vote for her daughter.
According to the Associated Press, Acton’s mother lost custody of her when Acton was 12 years old. Court records show Acton’s stepfather was charged with raping her when she was a child.
DeWine denounced the advertisement and called for it to be removed. Ramaswamy continues to stand behind the claims made in the ad, while Acton has described it as horrible.
