John Glenn airport adding nonstop flights to Germany

COLUMBUS — John Glenn Columbus International Airport will begin offering nonstop flights to Germany next year.

Lufthansa will operate the new service between Columbus and Frankfurt three times each week beginning in May.

The route will mark the first nonstop passenger service connecting Central Ohio with Europe.

Airport President and CEO Daren Griffin said the flight reflects continued international investment in the Columbus region.

Airport officials said the new route is not tied to the completion of the airport’s new terminal. However, they hope to attract additional international service once the terminal is finished.
