Midwest Electric promotes Chad Klaus to manager of operations and engineering

Midwest Electric has promoted longtime employee Chad Klaus to manager of operations and engineering.

Klaus joined the St. Marys-based electric cooperative in 2004 and has spent the past 11 years working as a crew leader. He brings more than two decades of utility experience to his new position.

A second-generation lineman, Klaus grew up around the electric utility industry and was encouraged by his father to pursue a career with an electric cooperative.

Klaus studied Civil Engineering Technology at Rhodes State College. He also plans to complete a degree offered through a partnership between the Central Ohio Lineworker Training Facility and West Virginia University.

Midwest Electric said Klaus’ experience, work ethic and commitment to the cooperative’s members and employees will help him in his new leadership role.

Based in St. Marys, Midwest Electric is a nonprofit, customer-owned cooperative serving more than 11,000 homes, farms and businesses across Allen, Auglaize, Mercer, Van Wert, Shelby, Putnam and Darke counties.
