Three people were seriously injured Friday afternoon in a crash involving an ambulance in Amanda Township, Allen County.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at approximately 2:52 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 117 and Grubb Road.

Troopers say 17-year-old Evan Fast of Spencerville was driving a 1993 Ford F-150 northbound on Grubb Road when he failed to stop and yield at the stop sign. His pickup was struck by a westbound 2024 Ford E-350 ambulance owned by Lima-Allen County Paramedics.

Both vehicles went off the north side of the roadway. The ambulance then traveled through a utility pole and multiple small trees.

Fast was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the pickup. He suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Mercy Health-St. Rita's.

The ambulance was driven by 26-year-old Austin Sizemore of Lima, who suffered minor injuries.

Two paramedics were working in the back of the ambulance. William Huston, 22, of Pandora suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while Kaden Tobin, 21, of Lima suffered minor injuries.

The ambulance was transporting 92-year-old Patricia Kohli of Spencerville at the time of the crash. She suffered serious injuries.

All 4 occupants of the ambulance were transported to Mercy Health-St. Rita's.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Allen County Sheriff's Office, Lima-Allen County Paramedics, Spencerville EMS, Invincible Fire Company, Shawnee Township EMS, the Ohio Department of Transportation and several other agencies.
