St. Marys Council to Consider Fuel Tank Purchase and Spring Street Grant Application

St. Marys City Council will meet Monday evening to consider several pieces of legislation involving city operations and future infrastructure work.

New legislation includes an emergency ordinance authorizing the city’s Director of Public Service and Safety to enter into an agreement for the purchase of fuel storage tanks and related equipment without competitive bidding.

Council will also hear a second reading of an emergency resolution authorizing the city to apply for an Ohio Department of Transportation Transportation Alternatives Program grant. The funding would support Phase Five of the Spring Street reconstruction project.

Another resolution receiving its second reading would clarify the name of Yorkshire Court in the city.

Third readings are scheduled for legislation updating the city’s codified ordinances and accepting the tax amounts and rates established by the Auglaize County Budget Commission.

Council will also receive a zoning change request, along with reports from the city auditor, treasurer and Director of Public Service and Safety.

The council meeting is scheduled for Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the St. Marys City Council Chambers. Council will also consider moving its October 12 meeting to October 13 at 5:15 p.m.
