Two Bellefontaine Men Injured in Logan County Rollover Crash

Two Bellefontaine men were injured Thursday afternoon in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Logan County.

The Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred at approximately 4:20 p.m. on County Road 1, south of County Road 5.

A 2009 Dodge pickup truck driven by 68-year-old James Samples was traveling north when it went off the east side of the road. Troopers say Samples overcorrected, causing the truck to travel off the west side, strike a ditch and roll several times before coming to rest on its side in a bean field.

Samples was flown to The Ohio State University Hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

His passenger, 54-year-old Norro Perdue of Bellefontaine, was taken by ambulance to Mary Rutan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The West Liberty Fire Department, Macochee Joint Ambulance District, CareFlight and Dad’s Towing assisted at the scene.

The Patrol says alcohol is suspected as a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
