Day Four of WCSM’s “Back to School” program at Minster Local Schools highlighted the people and programs supporting students beyond the classroom.

Treasurer Gina Selby discussed the district’s finances, including state and local funding, restricted funds, long-term forecasting and planning for future facility and equipment needs. Agriculture teacher and FFA adviser Carrie Rhoades joined students to explain how FFA develops leadership, career and communication skills through conventions, competitions and community activities.

Facilities, transportation and safety coordinator Andy Roetgerman reviewed building maintenance, security improvements, transportation needs and preparations for possible future expansion. Athletic Director Robb Hemmelgarn discussed Minster’s sports programs, coaching stability, scheduling and the district’s emphasis on student safety.

The program concluded with adviser Liz Hinker and members of the junior-senior high student council. They discussed organizing homecoming and other school activities, representing their classmates and developing leadership skills that will help them after graduation.
