Ohio City Man Arrested on Cocaine Possession Charge Following Search

An Ohio City man has been arrested on a first-degree felony cocaine possession charge following the execution of a search warrant.

Van Wert County Sheriff Thomas Riggenbach identified the suspect as 50-year-old Joseph Mohr.

Agents from the West Central Ohio Crime Task Force and the FBI Northwest Ohio Safe Streets Task Force obtained the warrant and executed it Tuesday at 510-and-a-half West Jefferson Street in Ohio City.

Two people were at the property when officers arrived. Both were identified, and one was released.

Authorities reported seizing a moderate amount of suspected cocaine and cash as evidence.

Mohr was taken to the Van Wert County Correctional Facility, where he is being held pending an arraignment Thursday in Van Wert Municipal Court.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and Van Wert Police Department assisted with the search. The investigation remains active, and authorities say additional charges could be filed.
