One Driver Arrested for OVI Following Delphos Sobriety Checkpoint

Troopers with the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol made contact with 200 drivers during an OVI sobriety checkpoint Friday evening in Delphos.

The checkpoint was conducted from 6 to 8 p.m. on West Fifth Street. No vehicles were diverted for additional screening during the checkpoint.

Troopers also conducted saturation patrols during and after the checkpoint to identify impaired drivers and reduce alcohol-related crashes.

During those patrols, troopers stopped 15 vehicles for traffic violations. One driver was found to be impaired and arrested for OVI.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reminds motorists to call #677 if they suspect an impaired driver.
