St. Marys and Greenville Stores Not Identified in Ohio Kroger Pricing Report

A newly released report alleges pricing problems at Kroger stores across Ohio, but the company’s locations in St. Marys and Greenville are not identified as stores involved in the findings.

The report, titled “Kroger’s Pricing Problem,” was released by the Center for Responsible Food Business through its Kroger Hurts Families campaign.

The organization reviewed government records covering 389 inspections conducted from 2022 through the middle of 2026 across nine Ohio jurisdictions. According to the report, inspectors recorded 644 incorrect prices and found that more than one-third of the stores reviewed had overcharged customers.

Identified overcharges averaged more than 20 percent above posted shelf prices. Fifty-eight inspections failed, while the report says pricing errors favored Kroger nearly three times as often as they favored shoppers.

The organization also reviewed nearly 2,000 voluntary accounts submitted by customers, employees and suppliers from several states. Complaints included repeated overcharges, confusing sales and difficulty obtaining digital-only discounts.

Kroger has previously said it is committed to affordable and accurate pricing and conducts regular reviews involving millions of items. The company has disputed claims that pricing problems are widespread.

Kroger operates stores at 475 Fortman Drive in St. Marys and 200 Lease Avenue in Greenville. Neither location is named in the report’s public summary as having failed an inspection or overcharged customers.
