St. Henry School Board Approves Camp Wilson Trip, Contracts and Fiscal Year Appropriations

ST. HENRY — The St. Henry Consolidated Local Schools Board of Education approved several financial, personnel and student activity items during its September meeting Wednesday evening.

Superintendent Adam Puthoff thanked the St. Henry Athletic Boosters for their continued support of the district’s athletic programs and their work to complete the new press box project.

The board also accepted the Athletic Boosters’ donation of a Gator utility vehicle for use at the Wally Post Athletic Complex.

Puthoff announced there will be no school for students Friday, October 2, due to a countywide professional learning conference. He also thanked parents and students for helping the district begin the new school year successfully.

Board members approved an overnight field trip that will allow fourth-grade students to attend Camp Wilson in May.

The board also approved the district’s food and beverage sales policy, student activity budgets and several fundraisers. Those include drama club ticket and concession sales, middle school student council activities, the FFA mattress and fruit-and-nut sales and National Honor Society fundraising.

A contract with the Montgomery County Educational Service Center was approved for hearing services during the 2026-27 school year. The agreement totals $26,748.

The board also approved an agreement covering athletic ticket gate workers, new officiating rates for the school year and the district’s fiscal year 2027 DPIA and Student Wellness and Success Plan.

Donations accepted during the meeting included contributions from businesses and individuals supporting the district’s football golf outing.

Personnel action included accepting the resignation of Kim Geier from a part-time elementary position and approving Brian Merle to work as a groundskeeper on an as-needed basis.

The board added several employees to its classified substitute list and hired a middle and high school assistant cook and instructional aide. Several girls basketball coaching appointments were also approved.

Board members adopted the district’s fiscal year 2027 permanent appropriations resolution. Total appropriations were listed at $16,928,655.46. The board also approved an amended official certificate of estimated resources for the fiscal year.

The next St. Henry Board of Education meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14, at 6 p.m. in the High School Media Center.
