Lake Improvement Association to Feature Amphibians of Grand Lake at Saturday Meeting

The Lake Improvement Association will put a spotlight on some of Grand Lake’s smaller residents during its next public meeting Saturday morning in Celina.

Naturalist Laura Walker will present “Amphibians of Grand Lake” during the meeting, which begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 5, at the Celina Moose.

The meeting is free and open to the public.

Walker will discuss native frogs, toads and salamanders found in and around Grand Lake St. Marys. She will also talk about where those species live and the roles they play in the local ecosystem.

The meeting will also include updates on Grand Lake water quality, natural resources and Grand Lake St. Marys State Park.

Coffee and doughnuts will be available.

Walker has served as the Grand Lake St. Marys and Wabash River naturalist since 2014. She previously worked as a watershed coordinator and has continued to focus on helping people learn more about local wildlife and natural habitats.
