Rockford Woman Indicted on Five Drug Charges in Mercer County

A Rockford woman has been indicted on five drug related charges in Mercer County.

According to an indictment filed in Mercer County Common Pleas Court, Brandy A. Helmer faces four counts of aggravated possession of drugs and one count of illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia. The indictment was filed August 20 in Case Number 26 CRM 095.

Two of the aggravated possession charges are second degree felonies. The indictment alleges the amount of methamphetamine involved in those counts equaled or exceeded five times the bulk amount but was less than 50 times the bulk amount.

Helmer also faces two additional counts of aggravated possession of drugs, both fifth degree felonies.

The fifth charge is illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth degree misdemeanor.

Court documents allege the offenses occurred on or about June 23, 2026, in Mercer County and involved methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance.

The case was presented to a Mercer County Grand Jury during its August term.

An indictment is a formal accusation and does not constitute a finding of guilt.
