Darke County Crash Sends Troy Teen to Miami Valley Hospital

A two vehicle crash Friday morning in Darke County sent an 18 year old Troy woman to Miami Valley Hospital and left another passenger with minor injuries.

According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, deputies along with Gettysburg Fire and Rescue and Bradford Rescue responded to the intersection of Horatio Harris Creek Road and Auld Road at approximately 10:38 a.m. on August 28.

A preliminary investigation found that a red Pontiac G6 driven by Willow Nicole, 18, of Troy, was traveling northbound on Auld Road when she failed to stop at the intersection with Horatio Harris Creek Road.

The Pontiac was then struck by an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jesse Mohler, 19, of Bradford.

Nicole was flown by MedFlight to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Her front seat passenger, Elizabeth Shofner, 20, of Piqua, was transported to Wayne HealthCare with minor injuries.

Mohler was treated and released at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
