Coldwater Village Council could consider new regulations involving e bikes and helmet use as early as September.

Village Manager Jason Eyink said council received a report this week from the village Safety Committee following an August 10 meeting.

The committee discussed e bikes and helmet usage, with Eyink saying a new ordinance will most likely be brought forward in September.

No e bike ordinance was formally introduced during Monday night’s council meeting.

Council also gave third and final reading to Ordinance 1779 involving the control of unattended dogs.

Officials also received an update on the North Cedar Street water line replacement project.

Eyink said the project is basically complete, although a few service lines still need to be connected.

Village crews are also preparing for the Coldwater recreation soccer season, which begins Saturday.
