The Celina-Mercer County Chamber of Commerce is highlighting several upcoming events around Mercer County, including changes to the regular farmers market schedule during fair week.
Chamber Director Stacy Beougher says the Celina Farmers Market will not be held Saturday, August 15, because of the Mercer County Fair. The market normally operates Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon at the Mercer County Fairgrounds and will return the following week.
The Mercer County Fair runs August 13 through August 19 in Celina, featuring seven days of grandstand entertainment, livestock shows, exhibits, carnival rides, fair food and activities for all ages. More information is available at mercercountyohiofair.com.
While the farmers market takes the weekend off, another shopping opportunity is planned along Grand Lake. Boardwalk Village will host its Lakeside Market Saturday, August 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. along West Bank Road. Beougher says the event will feature many familiar farmers market vendors along with additional local makers.
The Celina-Mercer County Combined Services Appeal is also preparing for its annual campaign. A community open house and kickoff drive will be held Saturday, September 5, at 9 a.m. at the PBS building at the Mercer County Fairgrounds.
Beougher says the open house will give residents an opportunity to learn more about participating organizations and how donations through the Combined Services Appeal support local programs.
Looking ahead to September, Grand Lake St. Marys State Park will host its annual Fall Fest September 11 through September 13. The event is open to the public and will feature a variety of fall-themed activities.
Additional information about upcoming Chamber and community events is available through the Celina-Mercer County Chamber of Commerce.
