CELINA — Celina-Mercer County Chamber of Commerce Director Stacy Beougher is highlighting several community events planned across the area this weekend.
The Celina Farmers Market will be open Saturday, August 8, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Mercer County Fairgrounds. The market features locally grown, homemade and locally produced items, along with weekly activities for children. The Lake Area Arts Group will also lead a plein air art event during Saturday’s market.
The Lake Improvement Association will hold its 25th annual Barstool Open on Saturday. Four-person teams will play miniature golf at participating locations around Grand Lake, with a 9 a.m. tee time by land or water. The event will be held rain or shine. Celina Manor will sponsor a blood drive Friday, August 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1001 Myers Road. Donors will receive a free water bottle and be entered into a drawing for Cincinnati Bengals season tickets. Appointments can be made by calling 937-461-3220.
The Lake Area Arts Group will also host its First Friday Art This Way event in downtown Celina on August 7. The free event will include plein air painting and a wet-paint sale and is open to all ages.
MAV Youth Mentoring will hold its Bubble Run on Saturday, August 8. Check-in begins at 8 a.m., with the foam-filled 5K starting at 9. Registration information is available through the organization’s Facebook page or by calling 419-584-2447.
Grand Lake Rotary will collect school supplies during its Stuff the Bus campaign Saturday in front of Walmart. Needed items include folders, pencils, crayons, glue, backpacks and other classroom supplies.
The Mercer County Fair will follow from August 13 through August 19 at the Mercer County Fairgrounds in Celina. The seven-day event will include livestock shows, exhibits, carnival rides, fair food, family activities and grandstand entertainment.
