St. Marys Police Investigating Suspicious Death

The St. Marys Police Department is investigating the death of a man found Sunday morning on Cleveland Avenue.

According to a press release from St. Marys Police Chief Lucas Turpin, officers with the St. Marys Police Department and personnel from the St. Marys Fire Department responded at 9:33 a.m. Sunday, April 26th, to the 600 block of Cleveland Avenue after a family member discovered an unresponsive male inside a residence.

Police say officers found 56-year-old Christopher A. Slone deceased at the scene.

Based on initial observations, police say the circumstances surrounding the death are considered suspicious, and an investigation has been started.

Officers are working with the Auglaize and Lucas County Coroner’s Offices to determine the cause and manner of death.

Police say there is no confirmed threat to the public at this time. Because the case remains active, further details are limited.
