Prayer vigil planned in St. Marys to support military troops and families
ST. MARYS - A community prayer vigil is planned this weekend in St. Marys to support military troops, their families, and world peace.
Speaking with WCSM, Patty Cisco said the vigil is meant to show support for area military families who have loved ones currently being deployed. She said deployment can be a stressful time for families, and the event is designed to let them know the community is praying for them and standing with them.
The event, called Project Safe Return, is scheduled for Sunday, April 26 at 6:30 p.m. at Cross Oak Camp and Retreat Center, 272 Jack Oak Point Road in St. Marys. The vigil is sponsored by St. Marys VFW Post 9289 and St. Marys American Legion Post 323.
According to the event flyer, praise music will be provided by ReviveOHIO, and prayer will be led by Pastor Mark Burd along with area community pastors. Families are also encouraged to bring a photo of their loved one for the event’s “Wall of Loved Ones.”
