Doug Hughes Steps Down as Parkway Boys Basketball Coach

According to Parkway School Superintendent Laura Young, Doug Hughes has submitted his letter of resignation as Parkway boys basketball coach.

Hughes steps away as Parkway’s all time winningest boys basketball coach. He compiled a 177 and 220 record over 17 seasons as head coach, serving from 2005 through 2011 before returning to the program in 2016.

One of the top moments of his tenure came during the 2019 to 2020 season, when Parkway finished 19 and 7, placed second in the Midwest Athletic Conference at 7 and 2, won the program’s first district title, and advanced to the regional final before the postseason was shut down because of COVID 19.
