New Bremen to Be Featured on WCSM Back to School Series

WCSM’s popular Back to School series will spotlight New Bremen Local Schools on Monday, April 20th.

New Bremen Superintendent Jason Schrader says the district is thankful for the chance to share its highlights and accomplishments with area listeners. Schrader says New Bremen was recently honored by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce with an overall five star award, and he believes the staff and students scheduled to appear on the program will help show why the district earned that recognition.

The day’s lineup begins at 11:30 with Schrader and Board of Education President Danielle Monfort discussing district highlights.

At 11:45, Tess Moeller, Tracy Steinke, and Kate Timmerman will talk about fifth grade activities, including Pi Day, the Wax Museum, and a field trip to Brukner Nature Center.

At noon, 7 through 12 Principal Marcus Overman will discuss junior high and high school events and activities.

Then at 12:15, Shannon Heckman, Brandi Heckman, and Josie Albers will talk about the DKC and the Real World Design Experience.

At 12:30, high school English teacher Theresa Newbright and 10th grade students Nirvana Hoffmaster and Vivian Trejo will discuss how reading and writing help students decide how to live in the modern world.

The day wraps up at 12:45 with Patty Ruckman of the 7 through 12 choir, who will talk about choir activities and the group’s recent Disney trip.

WCSM’s Back to School series has become a popular local feature, giving listeners a closer look at the students, staff, and programs shaping area schools.
