Delphos Man Sentenced to 18 Months in Theft by Deception Case

WAPAKONETA — A Delphos man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after pleading guilty in an Auglaize County theft by deception case.

Court records show 40 year old Daniel Lee Dircksen was sentenced in Auglaize County Common Pleas Court on one count of fourth degree felony theft by deception. A second theft by deception charge was dismissed as part of the case.

Dircksen originally entered not guilty pleas after being indicted in July of 2025 on two counts of theft by deception. The charges were tied to offenses alleged to have occurred in Auglaize County in February and July of 2023.

The records show Dircksen later entered into a negotiated plea agreement and pleaded guilty on February 25th to one of the two counts. The remaining count was dismissed upon completion of sentencing.

Judge Frederick Pepple sentenced Dircksen to 18 months with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. The court also ordered restitution totaling 328 thousand 669 dollars and 31 cents.

That total includes 281 thousand 489 dollars and 31 cents to the Auglaize County Council on Aging and 47 thousand 180 dollars to Agape Ministries Incorporated, along with court costs and a five percent restitution processing surcharge.

The sentencing entry also gave Dircksen four days of local jail time credit, with additional credit to apply while he awaits transport to the state prison system.
