Tri Star Career Compact Earns Overall 5 Star Award Again

CELINA — Tri Star Career Compact is celebrating another top mark from the state after earning the Overall 5 Star Award on the 2024 to 2025 Career Technical Planning District Report Card.

In a letter to Tri Star, Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Director Stephen D. Dackin congratulated the district for the recognition, saying the award highlights Tri Star’s commitment to student success. Dackin said the honor reflects the hard work and dedication of the staff in making sure students are equipped with the tools they need for growth, learning, and achievement. He also praised educators, staff, and administrators for creating an environment where students can thrive both academically and personally.

Tri Star Director Tim Buschur said the award marks the second or third straight year the district has received the recognition. He called it a testament to Tri Star’s teachers, staff, and students.

Buschur said the recognition goes beyond just the programs at Tri Star, noting partner schools also play a role through offerings like agriculture and family and consumer science programs. He said the district met all nine state standards at the outstanding level.

Buschur said the honor is a big one for the district.

“To say it’s a neat honor is probably an understatement. We’re pretty excited about it.”

The state letter says the recognition should be a source of pride for the Tri Star community and continue to inspire success in the years ahead.
