Van Wert woman charged after Sidney stabbing investigation

A Van Wert woman is facing a felonious assault charge after police say another woman was injured during a fight Monday morning in Sidney. According to the Sidney Police Department, officers were called to an apartment in the 1100 block of Hilltop Avenue on the report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found that two women visiting the residence had gotten into an altercation. During the fight, one of the women suffered a significant cut to her hand. The injured woman was treated at a hospital. Police say the suspect, 39 year old Kassia Alberts of Van Wert, left the scene before officers arrived but was located later that morning. Alberts was charged with felonious assault and taken to the Shelby County Jail.
