Parkway Weighs Conference Move As MAC Commissioner Addresses Realignment Talk
Parkway is considering a possible conference move, and the Midwest Athletic Conference commissioner says the league is prepared to respond as realignment reaches the area.
MAC Commissioner Ben Kramer addressed the situation during comments about Parkway potentially leaving the conference for the Northwest Conference, saying Parkway and every MAC school are valued members.
Kramer noted Parkway was a charter member of the Midwest Athletic Conference and said the league has remained intact for decades.
“Nobody has left the conference in nearly 50 years,” Kramer said, adding that the MAC believes it remains a stable conference.
At the same time, Kramer said he understands schools may face tough decisions moving forward. He said if changes do occur, the conference will take a proactive approach to protect the long term stability of the league.
Kramer also pointed to a broader statewide trend, saying conference realignment has been happening across Ohio and has now reached west central Ohio after affecting other regions first.
No official decision has been announced by Parkway.
