UPDATE: 2 Wapakoneta men identified in fatal Sunday night house fire

WAPAKONETA — The 2 men who died following a house fire Sunday night in Wapakoneta have been identified.

Authorities say David Ritchie, 63, and Fenton E. Lucas Jr., 63, both of Wapakoneta, died after being rescued from the burning home. Firefighters pulled the men from the residence and they were transported to Lima-area hospitals, where they died a short time later.

What sparked the fire remains under investigation.

A spokesperson for the Ohio State Fire Marshal's Office said Tuesday that its Fire & Explosion Investigations Bureau is working with the Wapakoneta Fire Department and Wapakoneta Police Department to determine the cause.

No additional information has been released.
