Parkway Local Schools Invited to Join Northwest Conference, Survey Open for Community Feedback

Parkway Local Schools says it has received an official invitation to join the Northwest Conference.

In a message shared this week, the district said it is evaluating the opportunity alongside its current membership in the Midwest Athletic Conference, and it is asking the community to weigh in.

School leaders say the goal is to ensure the best long term environment for Parkway student athletes. An anonymous survey has been posted for parents, students, and community members to share feedback.

The survey will close Tuesday, March 10 at 4:00 p.m.

Parkway Local Schools says it has received an official invitation to join the Northwest Conference, and district leaders are asking the community to weigh in before any next steps are decided.

Superintendent Laura Young says the school board wanted public input as the district evaluates the opportunity alongside its current membership in the Midwest Athletic Conference.

Young says the goal is to be transparent in the decision making process and to plan with a long term focus on what is best for Parkway students, including athletics and the overall academic environment.

An anonymous survey is available now for parents, students, and community members. The survey will close Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. After it closes, leaders say responses will be reviewed and discussed to help inform the district’s next steps.
