Chamber Awards Banquet Honors Celina and Mercer County’s Standout Leaders

The Celina Mercer County Chamber of Commerce recognized some of the area’s most impactful individuals, students, and businesses during its Annual Awards Banquet on Thursday, February 26, 2026.

In a statement following the event, Chamber President Stacy Beougher said the banquet is her favorite night of the year because it celebrates the people who consistently show up for the community. Beougher added that the recipients prove kindness and hard work still matter, and she thanked the sponsors and local business community for helping make the evening possible. She also highlighted the Chamber’s continued focus on recognizing local youth, calling them the foundation for the future of Mercer County.

Youth Leadership Award and $500 Scholarship: Lukas LeJuene

Lukas LeJuene was honored with a Youth Leadership Award and a $500 scholarship, recognizing a young leader who demonstrates strong character, dedication, and a drive to continually improve. The Chamber cited his work as a mentor and buddy with MAV Youth Mentoring, where he has volunteered for three years, describing his steady presence and the empathy he brings to others.

LeJuene is also active in marching band and jazz band, is a member of the National Honor Society, and participates in the College Credit Plus program. He has been involved in his church youth group and has worked at Walmart and Grand Lake Health. LeJuene is enrolled at Wright State University Lake Campus and plans to pursue medical school.

Youth Leadership Award and $500 Scholarship: Alanna Gray

Alanna Gray also received a Youth Leadership Award and a $500 scholarship, recognized for her work ethic, leadership, and ability to balance school, activities, and employment. Gray maintains a 3.8 GPA as a senior at Celina Senior High School and holds a 3.9 GPA in the College Credit Plus program. She also participated in Celina soccer, is a member of the National Honor Society, and has been involved in community service and fundraising.

The Chamber highlighted her professional approach and kindness in her job at Lake City Creamery, where she is known for friendly customer service and maturity in all situations. Lake City Creamery owner Wyatt Boley shared a congratulatory message praising her motivation and drive. Gray plans to continue her education with the goal of becoming a Nurse Practitioner.

Emerging Business Leader of the Year: Brooke and Braelen Bader

Brooke and Braelen Bader were named Emerging Business Leaders of the Year for the growth and community presence they have built through MADE in downtown Celina. The Chamber described the business as a rising star that has evolved from an idea into a destination that blends talent, design, creativity, and connection.

Over the past four years, MADE expanded from a home focused retail concept into a brand known for apparel design and printing, including collaborations that created school apparel for area schools. The Chamber also recognized the Baders for welcoming local makers into their space to help develop their own brands, and for regularly giving back through apparel projects that support causes throughout the region.

Business of the Year: Wabash Mutual Telephone Company

Wabash Mutual Telephone Company was named Business of the Year, recognized for its long standing role in Mercer County and its continued commitment to supporting the community. Founded in 1911, Wabash was highlighted as an essential service provider that supports education, commerce, healthcare, and everyday life, while continuing to invest locally and stay competitive.

The Chamber also emphasized Wabash’s community involvement, including scholarships for graduating seniors, support of local schools and athletic events, and ongoing sponsorships. Wabash was also recognized for community events such as Midnight Gladness, Pictures with Santa, and its annual Easter Egg Hunt.

Humanitarian of the Year: Tim and Mary Rosengarten

Tim and Mary Rosengarten received the Humanitarian of the Year Award, recognized for giving their time, talents, and resources to improve the lives of others. The Chamber noted that their service is driven by genuine care for the community, not recognition.

Their support for veterans includes involvement with Lots for Soldiers, an effort that raises funds and helps provide lots for veterans building homes in Celina, along with additional “blessings” during times of need. The Chamber also highlighted Tim’s service on the Tri Star Career Compact Advisory Board and the couple’s longstanding support of the Mercer County Fairgrounds, including fundraising and work connected to the development of the Grand Event Center.

Citizen of the Year: Michael J. Pax

Michael J. Pax was honored as Citizen of the Year for a career marked by leadership, service, and a deep commitment to community. Pax began his accounting career as a CPA before joining the family business, Pax Machine Works, in 1989 as an accountant and controller. He later became President in 2001, where the Chamber credited him with leading with vision, humility, and a focus on trust and long term partnerships.

The Chamber noted Pax’s broader community leadership through service with the Vistage Chief Executive Group, boards including CA Group and Second National Bank, and continued service on the WOEF Board for Wright State University Lake Campus. Pax retired in January 2026, and his son, Jeff Pax, accepted the award on his behalf during the banquet.
