Coldwater school board to consider Tri Star law and public safety program and scoreboard donations

The Coldwater Exempted Village Schools Board of Education will meet for its regular session Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the Cav Room.

On the agenda, the board will hear from scheduled visitors with the Band Boosters, followed by a financial update and reports from building principals.

In the superintendent and board discussion sections, members are expected to review student achievement, a legislative update, and the High School Student Handbook for the 2026 2027 school year.

Several resolutions are listed for possible approval, including FY26 permanent appropriation changes, approval of January 13, 2026 meeting minutes, the February financial forecast, and a transfer from the Permanent Improvement Fund totaling $903,074.47.

The board will also consider a “then and now” certificate for invoices $3,000 and over, including a $3,058.80 invoice to Mohawk USA for Chromebook covers.

Also on the agenda, the board is expected to consider OHSAA membership for the 2026 2027 school year, a memorandum of understanding with Northwest Ohio Area Computer Services Cooperative for EMIS extended services from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2028, and Tri Star Referral 141 to add a Law and Public Safety full day program starting in the 2026 2027 school year.

Donations are also listed for approval, including $7,500 each from Mercer Health and Peoples Bank and $6,000 from Superior Federal Credit Union for the Palace scoreboard. Additional donations from Eldora Speedway are listed for the athletic department and multiple sports programs.

Personnel items on the agenda include leave without pay, a salary placement change, an updated classified salary schedule effective February 15, 2026, and several hiring recommendations for the 2026 2027 and 2025 2026 school years. An executive session is also requested for the discussion of employment and compensation of personnel.

The next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the Cav Room.
