Celina man gets 4 years for courthouse escape

A 33-year-old Celina man who fled from the Mercer County Courthouse during an October hearing was sentenced Wednesday to 4 years in prison.

Kyle R. Poplaski received 36 months for escape and 12 months for failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, for a total of 48 months, according to court records.

Authorities said he ran from the courtroom after being remanded into custody and was captured outside after deputies used a Taser.
