The Darke County Sheriff’s Office says it is investigating a report of property damage and a missing hawk at Shawnee Prairie.
Deputies say they are working with the Darke County Park District after receiving a report that a fenced in enclosure for rescued hawks at Shawnee Prairie, located on State Route 502 west of Greenville, was damaged sometime overnight.
Officials say a female red tailed hawk named “Spirit” got out of the cage and is now missing.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
