City issues snow safety reminder: keep kids away from plow snow piles
As snow removal continues across the area, the City of Celina is reminding residents that snow piles created by plows are not safe places for children to play.
City officials say the piles can look fun, but they can be dangerous because more snow may be added throughout the day, and piles can contain ice, hidden debris, or become unstable. The city also noted that plows and other heavy equipment may be working nearby, creating additional hazards.
Residents are asked to keep children and pets away from snow piles and plowed areas as crews continue winter operations.
The city thanked the public for helping keep Celina safe during the winter season.
