New Bremen Council Approves Wage Increase, 2026 Budget, and Property Sales

NEW BREMEN, Ohio — At its recent meeting, New Bremen Mayor Bob Parker reported on the village’s finances and several council actions.

Mayor Parker said the village recorded revenue of $1,533,094.97 last month, with expenses totaling $2,221,328.32.

Council conducted third readings on several ordinances, including:

  • Authorizing the sale of personal property on govdeals.com for 2026

  • Approving a 3.5% wage increase for village employees

  • Allocating appropriations for the 2026 budget

During the meeting, council also conducted a second reading on an ordinance to lease farmland on State Route 274 for four years, which the village purchased last year.

Under new business, council passed emergency measures to:

  • Sell a 2004 International digger truck to the Howard Department of Transportation

  • Amend 2025 appropriations so that revenue slightly exceeded expenses

  • Transfer $250,000 to the sewer reserve fund

Mayor Parker said the council continues to manage the village’s finances carefully while planning for upcoming projects and employee compensation.
