Mercer County Grand Jury Indicts Mendon Man on Multiple Sex Crime Charges Involving Minors
CELINA — A Mercer County grand jury has indicted a Mendon man on numerous felony sex offense charges involving 2 juvenile victims, according to court records filed in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.
Randy L. Wyerick, 65, of 320 Lewis Street, Apt. 1, Mendon, was indicted during the Third Term of the Mercer County Grand Jury on December 18, 2025. The indictment outlines 13 felony counts and 1 additional felony count related to alleged sexual offenses spanning from 2020 through 2025.
According to the indictment, Wyerick faces multiple counts of Gross Sexual Imposition, Sexual Battery, and Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor, primarily third-degree felonies, along with 1 fourth-degree felony count of sexual battery.
Court documents allege that Wyerick engaged in sexual contact and sexual conduct with Victim #1 and Victim #2 over several time periods. Prosecutors state that Victim #1 was under 13 years old during some of the alleged offenses and between 13 and 15 years old during others. Victim #2 was alleged to be under 13 years old during all referenced incidents.
Several counts allege that Wyerick was acting in loco parentis, meaning he was in a parental or custodial role over Victim #1 at the time of the alleged offenses.
The charges include:
Multiple counts of Gross Sexual Imposition involving victims under the age of 13
Multiple counts of Sexual Battery while in a position of authority over a minor
Multiple counts of Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor, alleging significant age differences between Wyerick and the victims
