The Mercer County Fairgrounds opened its doors this weekend to give the public and local sponsors a first look at the new Grand Event Center.

Fair Manager Cara Muhlenkamp said the preview event was an opportunity to walk guests through the facility, answer questions, and highlight the vision for what the new center will bring to the fairgrounds and the community.

“We had our preview event at the fairgrounds to look at the Grand Event Center,” Muhlenkamp said. “We had our sponsors and the public out there and just kind of showcasing and answering questions for the new facility and painting the picture of the vision that we have and just trying to encourage folks to potentially donate to the project and help us get to the finish line with everything.”

Fair officials say fundraising efforts remain ongoing as they work toward completing the project. Organizers hope the momentum from the preview event will help generate additional support in the coming months.
