Celina School Board to Review Finances, Personnel Items at Dec. 8 Meeting

The Celina City Schools Board of Education will meet Monday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. in the high school lecture hall to review financial reports, personnel recommendations, donations, and district policy updates.

The meeting will open with the pledge of allegiance, roll call, and approval of the agenda before board members hear reports from the Celina Education Association co-presidents, the OAPSE president, and an update on district facilities.

Public participation will be allowed for up to 30 minutes, with each speaker limited to 3 minutes.

Treasurer Michelle Mawer will present the monthly financial reports, including approval of the Nov. 17 and Nov. 24 meeting minutes, the November cash summary showing more than $2.48 million in revenue and more than $10.32 million in expenditures, and a cash reconciliation total of more than $62.27 million. The board will also consider approving more than $7.92 million in November checks and adjustments to the FY26 permanent appropriations.

Several donations will be accepted, including $2,250 from Celina Eagles for the CHS Spirit Squad, $500 each from Mercer Landmark and Cooper Farms for Head Start family events, $5,000 from Celina Eagles for the CHS Caring Closet, and $500 from Shinn Brothers for Tri Star Construction jackets.

Under the superintendent’s report, the board will consider personnel items and an overnight FFA leadership trip to Columbus scheduled for Jan. 17–18, 2026. A slate of policy updates will receive a second reading, covering nondiscrimination, attendance, student devices, transportation, and school safety.

Board members will also discuss priorities for future athletic facilities and appoint a president pro tem for the January organizational meeting. The date for that meeting will be set during Monday’s session.

The board may enter executive session to discuss employment matters before adjourning.
