
Richard John “Rick” Rose, age 71 of Celina, Ohio passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025 at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born Oct. 24, 1954 in Coldwater, Ohio to the late Arlington M. and Florentine H. (Evers) Rose. On July 3, 1982 he married Teresa Ann Birkmeyer, who survives living at their residence in Celina. He is also survived by two daughters; Emily Rose of Celina and Erin (Doug) Myers of Coldwater, three grandchildren; Andrew Myers, Makayla Myers and Toby Myers. He is survived by his siblings Marlene Stephenson of Celina, Lois (Don) Baumer of Minster, Dave (Chris) Rose of Wooster and Larry Rose of Celina. His Father-in-law John Birkmeyer, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Brenda (Jim) Kuhn of Celina, Tony (Ann) Birkmeyer of Celina, Julie (Greg) Rhodes of Bellbrook, Becky (Mack) Muhlenkamp of Medina and Ann Gladish and Dave Liggitt of Celina.
In addition to his parents Rick was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Lynn (Borger) Birkmeyer.
Rick graduated from Celina High School with the Class of 1973. He was a printing press operator for forty-three years at Reynolds & Reynolds in Celina Until he retired in 2019. He was a Life member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1800. Rick owned and operated his own lawn care service for many years. He was also “Santa” for many years, including 18 years for the city of Celina.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Adam Berning officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coldwater. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 28, 2025 and on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina. Knights of Columbus membership services will be held at 8:00p.m. on Friday evening. The Mass of Christian Burial will be livestreamed at https://www.stisidorefamily.org/mass#LIVESTREAM.
