Mercer County Woman Indicted On Multiple OVI Charges, Resisting Arrest

A Mercer County woman has been indicted on two felony OVI charges and a misdemeanor resisting-arrest charge following an incident reported on November 19.

According to documents filed in Mercer County Common Pleas Court, Leslie E. Weisenberger, 41, of Celina, was indicted on:

  • Count 1: Operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, O.R.C. 4511.19(A)(1)(a), a fourth-degree felony.

  • Count 2: Operating a vehicle under the influence with a breath-alcohol concentration of .17 or higher, O.R.C. 4511.19(A)(1)(h), also a fourth-degree felony.

  • Count 3: Resisting arrest, O.R.C. 2921.33(A), a second-degree misdemeanor.

The indictment states Weisenberger was allegedly driving under the influence on November 19 in Mercer County and that her breath test registered at least .17.

Prosecutors note the felony OVI counts are elevated due to four prior OVI-related convictions within 10 years, including cases from Van Wert County, Mercer County, Auglaize County, and Miami County, Indiana.

A Mercer County Grand Jury returned a true bill on all counts. The case is now filed in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.
