The Celina City Schools Board of Education will meet Monday, November 24, 2025, at 6 p.m. in the High School Lecture Hall. The session is a regular meeting of the board to conduct district business, with time allocated for public participation as outlined in the agenda.

The meeting will begin with the Pledge of Allegiance, roll call, and the setting of the agenda before moving into reports. Scheduled reports include updates from CEA Co-Presidents Cheri Hall and Tressie Sigmond, OAPSE President Joni Minnich, and Superintendent Brooke Gessler, who will note that the December 15 board meeting has been moved to December 8. Presentations are also planned from the Spirit Squad Lab Rats NYC group, along with facility updates from Phil Metz and a project update from Garmann Miller’s Matt Hibner.

Public participation will follow, allowing residents up to three minutes each, with a 30-minute total limit unless extended by the board.

Treasurer Michelle Mawer will present her monthly report, asking the board to approve the October 13 meeting minutes, October’s cash summary and reconciliation reports, and the list of checks written during the month. She will also request approval of the FY26 permanent appropriations and reimbursement to the City of Celina for up to $273,390.75 for the Wayne Street Improvement Project stoplight. A long list of donations to various school programs will also be formally accepted.

The board will then move into the superintendent’s report, beginning with personnel items pending proper certification. The board will also vote on the treasurer’s contract extension through July 2028. Other business includes approval of the district’s Online Learning Feasibility Plan and a revised athletic worker pay scale.

Under Head Start business, the board will consider approval of the program’s report and multiple funding reallocations, including a request to shift $65,000 from fringe benefits to personnel due to vacant positions earlier in the fiscal year.

Members will also vote on staffing actions, including not hiring a Head Start head teacher and approving a 20-day probation extension for a teacher. Additional action items include approval of Med Prep observation site payments and STNA training hours for Tri Star students, funded through the Perkins Grant.

The board is expected to enter executive session under Ohio law to discuss employment matters involving public employees, before returning to regular session and adjourning.

The meeting is open to the public.
