St. Marys City Council Releases Agenda for November 24th Meeting

The St. Marys City Council will meet Monday, November 24, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at the City Building. The agenda includes routine business such as roll call, prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, and acceptance of previous minutes before council moves into petitions, communications, and reports from city officials. Reports are scheduled from the city auditor, treasurer, and the director of public service and safety.

Council will also hear from its Finance Committee before moving into legislative business.

Several items are up for a third reading, including:
Ordinance 2025-23, an emergency measure establishing fees in the city’s zoning and subdivision regulations.
Ordinance 2025-25, approving the execution of an Efficiency Smart schedule with American Municipal Power and declaring an emergency.
Resolution 2025-15, documenting the city’s position regarding the authority responsible for naming and addressing within St. Marys.

There are no items scheduled for a second reading.

New legislation being introduced includes a series of emergency ordinances related to wages, benefits, and personnel matters:
Ordinance 2025-26, setting wages and benefits for the fire chief and non-union fire department employees.
Ordinance 2025-27, establishing wages and benefits for supervisory and non-represented city employees.
Ordinance 2025-28, setting wages and benefits for the police chief and non-union police personnel.
Ordinance 2025-29, adjusting the salary of the director of public service and safety.
Ordinance 2025-30, setting pay rates and fringe benefits for city dispatchers represented by the Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association.

Two resolutions will also receive introduction:
Resolution 2025-16, allowing the city to dispose of property through internet bidding.
Resolution 2025-17, authorizing an appropriation and transfer of funds to the Refuse Revenue Fund.

Under miscellaneous business, council will be asked to schedule a Finance Committee meeting for December 1 at 5:15 p.m. for review of the 2026 budget. Council will also consider entering executive session to discuss collective bargaining for the fire department.
