OSU Extension Host Series for Beginning Farmland Owners

OSU Extension Host Series for Beginning Farmland Owners

Celina Ohio State University Extension Mercer County is hosting a series to assist area residents who would like to learn strategies and best management practices for farmland. The series is designed for those who recently acquired or inherited farmland and have little to no experience with farm or land management. The three-part series will be held on Wednesday evenings at 6:30PM in December at the Mercer County Agriculture Center, 4978 Mud Pike, Celina.  Topics addressed during the series will include understanding farmland values, leasing and selling farmland, and stewardship and utilization of farmland. With land being a valuable asset and a key contributor to agriculture and the broader economy, the goal of the series is to assist individuals and families by providing practical insights, cash rental data, and strategies for making informed management decisions about their farmland. Attendees are encouraged to attend all three evenings but are not required to. There is no cost to attend the series, and registration is not required.

December 3- Farmland Values and Its Utilization

December 10 – Leasing and Selling Farmland

December 17 – Protecting Your Farmland and Land Stewardship
