Celina woman indicted on multiple fraud and records tampering charges

CELINA — A Celina woman has been indicted by a Mercer County grand jury on several felony charges related to the alleged misuse of public assistance benefits and tampering with government records.
According to court documents, 36-year-old Jessica A. Landon, also known as Jessica Anne Smith, faces six felony counts.
Count 1 accuses Landon of the illegal use of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or WIC benefits, a third-degree felony. Prosecutors allege the offense occurred between August 13, 2021, and March 31, 2025, involving a total value of benefits between $7,500 and $150,000.
Landon also faces five counts of tampering with records, each a third-degree felony. The indictments claim she falsified or altered applications and reapplications for public assistance — including SNAP, cash, and childcare benefits — on multiple occasions between August 2021 and January 2025. Landon is free on her recognizance. She is scheduled to appear for arraignment on November 12th.
