St. Marys Man Released on Bail in Sex-Related Case
A St. Marys man accused of multiple sex-related offenses is out on bail following his arraignment in Auglaize County Common Pleas Court.
51-year-old Hector Hernandez was indicted on 13 counts, including several charges of sexual battery and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
Court records show Hernandez entered not guilty pleas to all charges and was released after posting a $5,000 bond, representing 10 percent of his $50,000 cash or surety bond.
As part of his release conditions, Hernandez must stay at least 500 feet away from the alleged victim, members of the victim’s family, and the victim’s school.
He is also prohibited from using any internet-connected device that allows encrypted communications — including Snapchat, WhatsApp, and Messenger — and is required to undergo court-ordered medical testing within 10 days.
A pretrial hearing in the case is scheduled for Tuesday, December 9, at 9:30 a.m. in Auglaize County Common Pleas Court before Judge Frederick Pepple.
