New Bremen Council Prepares for Cider Time, Approves Electric Rate Adjustment

NEW BREMEN — The Village of New Bremen is gearing up for its annual Cider Time celebration on Saturday, October 26th. Mayor Bob Parker reminded residents that the parade lineup will begin at 1 p.m. behind the Crown building uptown, with the parade stepping off at 1:30 p.m. Trick-or-treat in the village will take place afterward from 3 to 5 p.m.

During Monday night’s council meeting, members approved the third and final reading of an ordinance to modify electric rates through the power supply cost adjustment, which will result in about a six percent increase beginning in 2026.

Council also held second readings on measures to adopt a solid waste management update for the Auglaize County Solid Waste Management District and to establish a drug law enforcement fund policy.

In new business, a first reading was held on a resolution authorizing the Auglaize County Engineer’s Office to serve as the addressing authority for the village’s 9-1-1 system. The move is intended to ensure new addresses are entered into the system within 48 hours.
