To hear comments from Sheriff Doug Timmerman:
From the Mercer County Sheriff's Office:
Please join us in welcoming the newest member of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office – K9 Randy! Randy is a German Short-haired Pointer.
K9 Randy has been assigned to Corrections Sergeant Zach Vogel. Vogel and Randy completed 200 hours of training at Shallow Creek Kennels in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania.
Randy was purchased from Shallow Creek thanks to generous donation from the Celina Moose Lodge!
Randy’s primary function is narcotic detection, specifically in the detention facility environment. He has completed the North American Police Work Dog Association certification, and the State of Ohio. Randy’s first shift was this past Sunday, October 12.
The Sheriff’s Office would also like to thank the Celina Eagles and Coldwater Eagles for their financial support of the office K-9 fund, which will be used for veterinarian services, food, and equipment
